Amelia Earhart Fellowship by Zonta International 2025

The Amelia Earhart Fellowship, established by Zonta International in honor of the pioneering aviator, is a fantastic opportunity for women pursuing advanced degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences. This fellowship aims to break barriers and promote gender equality in the aerospace industry by providing significant financial support and recognition to up to 30 outstanding women each year.

Fellowship Benefits

This fellowship gives $10,000 each to up to 30 women every year. You can use this fellowship at any university that offers advanced courses in aerospace and space sciences.

Who Can Apply for Amelia Earhart Fellowship?

The fellowship welcomes applications from women of any nationality who are:

  • Enrolled in a full-time Ph.D. or doctoral program in aerospace engineering or space sciences.
  • Demonstrating a superior academic record and conducting impactful research in the field.
  • Have completed at least one year of their Ph.D. program or possess a master’s degree in a related field.
  • Will not graduate from their doctoral program before April 2026.

It is important to note that the fellowship does not support post-doctoral research and is not open to members or employees of Zonta International or their immediate family members. Furthermore, previous Amelia Earhart Fellows are ineligible to reapply.

Application and Evaluation Process

The application for the 2025 Amelia Earhart Fellowship must be submitted online through its official page (https://www.zonta.org/Web/Our_Programs/Education/Amelia_Earhart_Fellowship/Web/Programs/Education/Amelia_Earhart_Fellowship.aspx) by 15 November 2024.

A committee reviews all applications and picks the fellows based on your academic achievements and the research you are doing. Everything is kept confidential, so only the necessary people will see your application details. You’ll find out if you are selected by the end of April.
