Who is Eligible for Leiden University Excellence Scholarship?
1. Program Requirements: LExS is open to students enrolling in a full-time master’s program at Leiden University, with a few exceptions:
- LLM (non-advanced) and MSc programs at the Leiden Law School are not eligible.
- Programs beginning in February at the Faculties of Humanities, Sciences, and Leiden Law School are also excluded.
2. Nationality: Primarily for non-EEA/non-EFTA passport holders, the scholarship extends to all nationalities for:
- All LLM Advanced Studies programs.
- MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy.
3. Academic Excellence: You should be among the top 10% of your undergraduate program to apply. This indicates the scholarship’s competitive nature and high academic standards required.
Scholarship Benefits
The LExS offers three levels of financial support, which include:
- €10,000 of the tuition fee.
- €15,000 of the tuition fee.
- Total tuition fee minus the statutory fee.
How to Apply for Leiden University Excellence Scholarship
- Apply for Your Program: First, secure admission to your chosen master’s program at Leiden University.
- Scholarship Application: After admission, access the scholarship section on your application portal. If eligible, the LExS will appear.
