CERN Administrative Student Programme 2024

Are you a college student eager to make a big impact in the world even before you graduate? Imagine joining CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, where you can contribute to groundbreaking scientific research while still in university.

What is CERN?

CERN (in Geneva, Switzerland), is where some of the world’s brightest minds explore what the universe is made of and how it works. They use massive machines to smash tiny particles together at incredible speeds, uncovering the secrets of the universe. It’s not just about physics; CERN values diversity and collaboration, making it a dynamic and inspiring place to work.

Why Join the Administrative Student Programme?

This programme is a fantastic chance for students like you, studying in areas like business, law, communication, or any other administrative field, to get real-world experience in an international setting. Here’s what the programme offers:

  • Internship Details: You can join for 2 to 12 months, during which you’ll receive a monthly allowance of 3452 Swiss Francs, a travel grant, and comprehensive health insurance. Depending on your personal situation, additional financial support for family members may also be available.
  • Life at CERN: You’ll work alongside experts from all over the world in a multicultural environment, contributing to projects that matter on a global scale.

Are You Eligible?

If you’re a national from a CERN Member or Associate Member State and have completed at least 18 months of your college education in an administrative field, you can apply. You also need to be fluent in either English or French.

How to Apply

  • Get your CV, latest academic transcript, and a reference letter from a university professor ready. Make sure these documents are in English or French.
  • Apply through CERN’s career portal.
  • If your university requires a traineeship agreement, note that CERN uses its own agreements and does not sign external documents.

Application Deadline

All your documents need to be uploaded by July 29th, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.

Selection Process

After you apply, a panel of experts at CERN will review your application. You might also need to attend an interview. By the end of October 2024, you’ll know if you’ve been selected.
