  • Round-trip Airfare: Economy class air travel to and from the host university at the beginning and end of the study program.
  • Health Insurance: Basic medical insurance is obtained through the university.
  • Travel Allowance: A US $600 allowance for each travel to and from the host university.

Eligibility Criteria for International Students

To be eligible for the JJ/WBGSP in year 2025-2026, you must meet the following conditions:

  • Citizenship: Must be a national of a World Bank member developing country that is listed here.
  • Academic Background: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree earned at least three years prior to the application deadline.
  • Professional Experience: Must have at least three years of development related employment.
  • Health Status: Must be in good health.
  • Admission Requirement: Must be admitted unconditionally (except for financing) to one of the participating master’s programs.
  • Non-eligibility for Staff and Relatives: Must not be an executive director, staff, or a close relative of someone from the World Bank Group.

Application Process for JJ/WBGSP

  1. Admission to a Participating Program: Before applying for the scholarship, secure an unconditional admission to one of the 53 designated master’s programs.
  2. Application Submission: Apply through the JJ/WBGSP portal, which becomes accessible only after securing admission to a participating program.
  3. Selection Criteria: Applications are evaluated based on the quality of professional experience, professional recommendations, commitment to your home country, and educational background.
