  • All tuition fees are paid directly to the Swedish university at the start of each semester.
  • You will receive a monthly allowance of SEK 12,000 to cover your living costs.
  • A one-time travel grant of SEK 10,000 to SEK 15,000 is provided.
  • Health and accident insurance
  • Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP) and subsequent membership in the SI Alumni Network after completion of the study.

Eligibility Criteria for Swedish Institute Scholarship

To be eligible for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals in year 2025-2026, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a citizen of one of the 41 countries listed as eligible. It’s important to note that residency in the home country at the time of the application isn’t necessary, but you should not hold Swedish or EU/EEA citizenship.
  • You should apply for a master’s program that qualifies under this scholarship, which includes a variety of English-taught courses.
  • Must demonstrate relevant work experience, specific work experience requirements may vary by country.
  • Must have shown leadership capabilities either in current or previous employment, or within civil society.

Application Process For SI Scholarship

Here’s a clear and straightforward guide on how to apply for a master’s program and the SI Global Professionals Scholarship in year 2025-2026:

1# Apply for Your Master’s Program: First, you will visit UniversityAdmissions.se and select up to four master’s programs that align with your career goals. Upon completion, you’ll receive an eight-digit application number, keep this safe as it’s essential for the scholarship application. Note that the Stockholm School of Economics and Konstfack have their own application procedures.

2# Scholarship Application: After this, you will need to prepare and submit your SI scholarship application online. This application must include documents according to the SI template:

    • A Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • Proof of work and leadership experience
    • Two letters of reference
    • A photocopy of your valid passport or national ID card, showing your personal details and photo.
    • A motivation statement, which you’ll add directly in the application portal.

Ensure all documents are in English and stick to the provided templates and guidelines.

3# Screening and Evaluation: After the application deadline, SI will screen all submissions to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria.  They’ll check your focus on potential impact and alignment with the goals of the scholarship.

4# Notification from University Admissions: After evaluation, you will receive notification from University Admissions about whether you have been admitted to one of your chosen master’s programs. Admission is a prerequisite for moving forward in the scholarship process.

5# Final Evaluation and Announcement: Following the admission notifications, SI conducts the final evaluation of the scholarship applications. The announcement of the scholarship recipients will be made on April 25, 2025. If successful, you will receive an official scholarship offer via email, which must be accepted by the specified deadline.

Application Deadline

The application process for the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals in 2025 begins with the master’s program applications, which prospective students can submit from October 17, 2024 until January 16, 2025.

Following this, the scholarship application period is slated to open on February 10, 2025, and will close on February 28, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications early within this window to avoid any last-minute issues that might arise due to high traffic on the submission portal.
